The Vasa

This ship set sail in 1628 and only sailed 1500 meters when it sank...it was too top heavy. It remained in the mud in the harbour for approx 300 years. It was salvaged in the 1960s and it took four years to raise her.

This is how they raised her...divers dug tunnels through the mud and fed cables beneath her.
